Welcome to the Last Frontier

Alaska has been quite an adventure.

On the first night of my arrival, I walked a few miles to a local tavern.
After a few drinks and a great conversation with an older gentleman, obviously a seasoned fisherman, I met up with a younger guy wearing a Wu-Tang t-shirt over a sweatshirt.

First sign of a good person to talk to.

After a short conversation, I was invited into a game of bowling in the attached bowling alley.
Yes this bar has a bowling alley!
"Fuck it dude, let's go bowling"
                       - Walter
This particular bowling game was intended to be "golf rules" - lowest score
I bowled a turkey. (3 strikes in a row)
After this I continued in the regular manner of throwing my fair share of gutter balls and single pin knock downs.

Shortly after being cut off from the bowling alley and the adjacent bar, the guy in the Wu-Tang shirt and 4 other of his friends and I, pile into a cab with only enough room for 5. One guy slept on the floor in the back of the minivan taxi. And off we go.

After a few minutes in the cab, we arrive at Great Alaskan Bush Company.
    A strip club.
The night proceeds as any other night would inside an establishment like this.  Although one guy decided to get a lap dance with only $3 in his pocket.

Leaving with a belly full of beer and no cash in my pocket, it was time to pile into  the cab home. Only this time, the cab driver was a little more attentive of how many people were getting into his vehicle. A second cab was called.
After another short cab ride, we arrived back at the bowling alley. I was quite intoxicated at this point and decided it was a good time to walk the 2 miles back to the house.

I sang several songs to myself and thought about the evening. I did stop along the way and felt that it was important to lay on the ground and make a snow angel. It was glorious!

"What a great first night", I thought before closing my eyes for the night.

Welcome to Alaska
